I'm not an expert, but the fact that the shock didn't rebound and is still compressed while laying on the ground tells me you might need a new shock. It might have bent when it came loose. Anyway, I hope the bar pin does the trick.

I dont think those shocks are supposed to rebound as they are absorbers, if he had backed up at all I would check the lower as well as the upper mounting points for any damage. it could have just been compressed a lil and stayed there due to the mounting bolts not tight or just vibrated out. Red locktight will fix that.

Does anyone have a Skyjacker 7000 shock they don't need? Or the pin that goes in the top mount? I found a shop that had a stock pin, but the slot for the bolts weren't big enough. I guess the JK's have a larger size than TJ's. I had the pin welded, but I don't really trust it for off-road.

I dont have a shock, but I have a JK barpin. It is from a stock rear shock. You are welcome to it if works for you. Hit me up with a PM if you want it.

I haven't been on the Forum and just saw this. It's gotta be from a JK. I already tried other ones and they were way too small. Sent you a PM.

How did that even come loose? Did the bolts back out or did you torque it somehow?

Autozone or Orielly carries them, they'd probably give you one, or your local 4wheelparts has them, just take off the shock, use a little KY Jelly on the rubber grommet (suggest replacing that too) and tap it in with a hammer over a vise, done, no big deal, no conversions needed unless you want to go there right now.

Looking at your pic i think you have an other problem as well. When the shock is loose like that the red accordain boot should be totally extended and it is NOT. Think you have a bad shock now and need a new one.
