I need a DEFINATIVE answer please!
Ok..here's the deal. I have decided that I want to go with 35's....that being said..and the fact that I am starting with a stock 09 2 dr Rubicon...how much lift do I REALLY need to run the 35's without rubbing? I'm a short old fart so if I can get away with 2 1/2 ,3 or 3 1/2 instead of 4..thats a plus for me. I'm not trying to go the CHEAP route...I just don't think I will need overkill. I don't see me going with 37's or bigger ANYTIME soon! Probably NEVER.
Soooo if a 2 1/2 , 3 or 3 1/2 will do that's what I'll go with. I really don't want to go any higher than required cause I see that leading to other issues....driveshafts being one and longer arms being another.
So please help me out here and state your opinions based on FACTS you KNOW to be true..
If you have a specific brand in mind that you know works please list it!
It WILL have the weight of a RockHard 4x4 full width bumper and Warn 9.5ti winch hanging on the front.

put some aftermarket flat fenders on it and you will probably not need to lift it at all.....will depend on how hard you wheel it. A guy in Colorado Springs is running 37's with only a budget lift (2.5 inches) and flat fenders.
1. Start with the FAQ's at the top of this Modified section.
2. Then move on to any of the 100's of 'other' I want 35's threads.
But, there is no DEFINITIVE answer, simply because there are so many preferences and opinions out there, and so many ways to run 35's. There are board members running 35's on stock wheels with no lift and stock fenders. Practical? No, not really. They make wide turns and don't go over speed bumps, but they're on 35's...
Do some research on your own, figure out what will work best for 'you'. Then ask for feedback concerning the specific questions you have.

I only do light wheelen, logging roads and mountain climbing, I am a punk ass though and love the look and respect you get with a lifted jeep! I love the idea of pulling up to some jag off that thinks his FJ is cool, yell at him with my PA and floor it! If you do any wheelen at all just get a 2.5 with shocks and springs and good enough. I bought the T F 2.5 econo and 3/4 spacers today from QT, as well as my black steel wheels and my nitto muds!
In your case I would recommend the Teraflex 2.5" Budget Boost w/shocks or the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift w/shocks. Both are the same kits except one has 2.5" spacers and the other has replacement coil springs. You will get more lift out of the springs lift vs the spacers (especially in the front). This would help accommodate aftermarket bumpers and/or a winch much better than the spacers.
