ive been running these since 2010, i bought them brand new. So far i havent had any issues with flexing or rust. When i flopped my JK we used the rock rail to pull the jeep back up, obviously it bent a litle bit but i used a floor jack to straigten it back out. Obviously there are better and more expensive rails but for what these cost i think they are fine.

I had this same issue with my smitty sliders. The damage has been repair, now with added armor.

The sliders hug the side of the body with less than a half inch gap between the two - very little wiggle room.
I'm wondering if a 1 inch body lift would move the sliders a little further away from the body and thus prevent any future damage. thoughts?

How do you think this slider, that attaches to the bottom of the body mounts, would look with 1 inch of body lift?

I know new sliders would solve the issue but I'm looking for justification to do a body lift!

Added armor? What does that entail? Are you still trying to run these pieces of shit? I think the body lift won't help, just ruin the repair work you did. Honestly I think it might make it worse. Measuring an inch up will have the sliders still hit. I'm selling mine on Craigslist and getting ace bolt ons. Iv taken mine off still looking for best price on the ace ones.

I added the plastic bushwacker guards in the hopes that they will shield the metal from the small indentations I got the first time they made contact. If nothing else, they'll shield any damage from the eye.

I need to get rid of them. What's the price of the ace sliders?

340 from ace.. Seeing if I can find cheaper. And plastic bro?? I'm not looking for a bandaide. I want long term fix. No hate, but plastic rockers isn't gonna cut it for my needs. I need strength

Post some pics once you get them installed. I'm curious to see the angle on the latest iteration.

I also had the Shittybilt Rocker guards. Installed them, removed them and returned them. I now have the RS-E sliders which I am very pleased with.

FINALLY got around to mounting these- real easy! With grinding the body mounts took about 15 min. Powder coating looks real good. Didn't realize how far these things still out. Actually like the look of the shittys more, but I think these will grow on me. Gonna go slam em next weekend to see how they hold up

You will be fine with these. The Smitty sliders are mounted very close to the body and have a little bit of deflection to them. However the body also moves a lot since its mounted in rubber.

These sliders give you more of a gap between them and the body so it isn't likely that it will contact the body when it is moving around.

Ace makes quality parts and you will be happy with these sliders.
