These sliders give you more of a gap between them and the body so it isn't likely that it will contact the body when it is moving around.

Ace makes quality parts and you will be happy with these sliders.

Thanks! One thing I was wondering though, Should I have removed the rubber grommets on top of the body mounts? From watching the ACE install video and searching, it did not look like people do this- but to me it seems like it would be a better contact and also bring it up 1/2 inch.

Its better off to leave them as is. If you move the slider up to much you might run into the same issue as you had with the Smitty. It could end up seeing deflection in the body and hit your slider like you did before.
