an impact wrench is the easiest way to get it off. otherwise, you'll need a long breaker bar to do the job. a pipe slipped over your wrench will do the trick as well. if you have someone stepping on the brakes while you do this, it'll help keep your jeep from rolling and will maximize your efforts.

Wow. Mine slid off with the impact. Well, I guess I'll second the pipe extension on a breaker bar then. Maybe soak it with PB Blaster over night? Good luck.

Edit: Maybe, hit it with a torch to heat it up a bit?

Hmmm Not budging with an impact wrench or with the wrench trick....no torch...

How about MAP Gas??? Do you have a bottle of that handy??? If not it's cheap & may do the trick....

I know how frusterating that sh*t can be....keep trying brother and let us know!

Are you going the right direction? What impact wrench are you using? Is it oiled?

I have found that if something can move when I am using an impact wrench, it will absorb most of the impact. You might try to clamp a bar to the yoke and brace it tight against something solid. This way the impact of the gun is not lost in the slop of the gears, axle splines, brakes, etc... I hope that makes sense.

WD-40 + Lighter = Torch

YMMV

Other ideas?

Drop it while applying moderate pressure with the wrench?

Firecrackers, like an M-1000 (the $0.50 ones not a honkin stick of dynamite ok?) right next to it. The shock may jar it loose - it shouldn't damage it (I couldn't imagine how it could)

Yell at it?
