Mine was pretty awkward.. I have an 08 and I recieved my BL before they figured out the last two bolts were larger. David@Northridge sent the correct bolts out and I just had to drill out the pucks to allow the bolts to pass.. Other than that, it was pretty straight forward.
As for the "trimming". You will definitely have to trim your inner shifter boot. I just used a razor knife to cut about 4-5 inches of the fold on the edge furthest to the rear. It is kinda hard to explain without pics (guess I should have taken some). Basically, you take a rag and a small screwdriver and pop that ring off around the shifter. The clips are at the rear, so gently pry up on that trim ring and it will come free.. The front just slides into place. So, once you pop the clips lift the ring and boot up onto the shifter as far as you can get it so you can see inside. Put the shifter in 2nd and make a mark where it hits that inner boot, then place the shifter in reverse and make another mark. You are going to remove that section of the lip between your marks. It is only about 3/8 tall, so don't go hacking a big chunk of that boot off. Then reinstall the trim ring/outer boot and it doesn't pop out of gear. At least that is how I did mine after I called M.O.R.E. and asked them which part to cut.
I know that was one big confusing mess of instruction....but once you see the inner shift boot, you will understand.

Not for now,I was trying to think of something I could use to replace it without creating the same problem. It was a must , it was that or have it pop out of gear all the time.
