Default Intake, Which do you prefer?

Hey which do you all recommend for a CAI, K & N, AFE, Volant, or AEM Brute Force? I am leaning towards K & N but I was just wondering if there are any differences between these? Thanks

i posted this reply in the write up section for the intake install but figured i might get a better response here.

I have the Airaid, so far so good. Do a search and you'll get a million threads and opinions on all of these.

+2 on the Airaid!

Have it on my JK and also on our Commander!

Love the added sound, and I do notice a bit of difference!

The Volant seems to be the only one with a COLD air intake...the others all seem to still draw under hood air. So all can provide better intake resistance due to open filters, but the volant protects the filter form water infiltration...important if doing water crossings, etc...and, the colder air contains a denser charge of oxygen for combustion than the hot under hood air does...plus, it tends to be be cleaner air to start with, etc.

Default Cai

I have the AIRAID and it's good to go. If you ever plan on getting a snorkel I would wait. All of the current CAI set ups pull air from under the hood and it isn't like there is an intercooler that cools the air. All the intakes really do is allow "easy" intake and it works, your not going to get 20HP or anything. If you plan on doing much fording get one that is more protected or wait. Intrestingly enough the VOLANT is almost identicle to the TJ intake (once you remove a piece).

stock... after filling it up with mud and having only the tiniest splash hit the filter, i'll take the big clunky stock box any day.

AEM is my fav. They work great and dont require oiling at all.

ON my tj I have one and while in Moab that red dust is crazy. The entire outside of the filter was red. I took it off to clean it and the inside of the filter was still white.

I was impressed.
