change the oil and clean the filter and see what happens. if it does not improve then your bad gas milage could be many things such as wrong tire preasure, the way you drive, the fuel blend, the type of driving (ex. city or interstate), you could even go as far as mechanical problems with injectors, plugs, and host of others.

but start simple

Hey Guys,

Actually, in the former case, you're improving fuel mileage by 13.3% whereas in the latter the improvement is only 7.4%. So essentially, the 2 MPG improvement makes a much bigger difference to your wallet in a jeep than say a prius. I spend about $250/month on gas for my jeep. The 2 MPG would be equivalent to $33.33 in cost savings per month.

Thanks for letting me chime in!

Best,
V

I spend 400-500 a month on gas... Is there a smiley face that shoots itself in the head?

Default Pre-Oiled???

Thinking of buying a K&N air filter and was wondering if they come pre-oiled or do you need a cleaning and oiling kit for the initial install?

Thanks.

When I put mine in I saw an average of 15 around town with some highway and 17 on the highway. It did help though with the economy. I can't say much about the gas as I normally run midgrade in the summer cause its the same price as regular where I fill up. Hopefully you get it figured out!
