Lift Kits and Swaybar Disconnects
This may be a stupid question, but I've been searching for awhile and I can't seem to figure out the answer.
Sometime in the near future, I am planning on installing a budget-boost kit on my JK. I've been looking at a Skyjacker 2.5" kit that comes with spacers and new shocks (hydros.) Check out the 4wheelcustoms.com/ProductDetail.asp?ID=194509"]link[/URL].
My question is will I have to buy new swaybar disconnects for the front or rear? I read somewhere that you can swap the front ones out with the factory rear ones, but then what do I do to replace the rears? Do I buy longer ones?

Depends on how you intend to use it.
Street only, you should be ok with stock links. Offroad, it is much better to have the swaybar level ( +/- 5deg, with + being better than - ) When you flex, short links have a bad habit of flipping the swaybar around backwards, turning the links into pretzels.
It is very common to get longer rear links, and then move the stock rear links up front. Or get adjustables. Or get disconnects if you want more travel/flex.
Any particular reason you're going with the Skyjacker? I might suggest looking at the TeraFlex levelling kit, or the 2.5 BB also. (More complete kits with many options on spacers/coils, relo brackets, shocks or shock extensions, etc)

Some Teraflex Quick Disconnects would be a wise investment if you plan to take it off of the pavement...disconnecting the front sway bar makes a HUGE difference....
$123.99

JKS makes some nice disconnects too that lots of people like....but I prefer the Teraflex style since it has somewhere to stow the link while disconnected.
You could also buy just some extended rear links, they may allow you to flex a tad bit more in the rear...I purchased my extended rears from Rusty's Off Road, but I know there are other that sell them by themselves as well....
$39.00 (about 2" longer than stock I think)

He was at the tire shop, not offroad...
No one can tell you whether or not it will ever happen to you. But $20 or $30 for new rear links seems like pretty cheap insurance. I would also suggest running to the hardware store and spending $5 on the parts to make some brake line extension brackets.
