Have you tried shifting into a lower gear when climbing steep grades?

It is also shutting down to 4 cylinders (so it feels) and RPMs are up to 4k. Has anybody else experienced this and if so what was the fix, or does anybody have suggestions. Yes I could take it to the dealer, but instead of having them say that's its because of the mods and having it black listed I was hoping someone on here could advise.
Thanks
What do you mean by "the Jeep is stating it is getting warm, however the motor does not feel warm."? how is the Jeep telling you its getting warm? temp guage going up? to what? and what do you mean by "It is also shutting down to 4 cylinders (so it feels)"? its just has no power? or its sputtering (or something else)? Is this your first Jeep? your first lifted Jeep?

These things are, well, not very powerful. Add in 8" of lift (really? you know that 5"+ more than necessary for 35" tires right?), 35" tires, accessories and you're really gonna feel it. The extra aerodynamic drag, weight, and rolling mass the Jeep is going to feel very lethargic going up any long grades (feeling like its down a couple cylinders) and it's going to be working very hard (making the temps rise, engine oil, engine coolant, trans and tcase fluid, as well as gear oil in the axles).

The rpms are up to 4k because the trans is downshifting trying to find enough power (the right gear) to get up the hill at the speed at which you're asking it to do (throttle position).

To be honest, unless it's sputtering/cutting out or throwing a CEL, I'd say this is completely normal considering the current state of your Jeep.

No I have had several Jeeps, My other half has the same lift and 37's -granted I put 4:88's in that one, but it does not do the same thing. what I mean by the Jeep getting hot is the Temp gauge says it is however under the hood the temp is normal and there is no codes. Its shutting it self down to the 4 cylinder to protect it because it thinks it is getting hot. I was just trying to see if anybody else has experienced this in the past, with the 3.6 and the Eco mode. I have a feeling it is just a PCM upgrade maybe or the sending unit. I will try it that way first. Thanks for your help.

I agree, probably do 5.13's but want to get this issue taken care of first, in case
I have to take to dealer.

Are you verifying the actual temp? Don't rely on a temp gun. Eco mode on the new wranglers is just a dummy light letting you know when your driving in an "economical" fashion.

What year is it? There is a TSB on the 14's for a bad cooling fan module causing the coolant temps to run hot or overheat.

Eco mode is VVT and does not shut down cylinders on 3.6.. My book says nothing about shutdown of cylinders. Only that VVT reduces fuel consumption when under normal driving co editions and at stable throttle positions.

Did you buy it like this from the dealer? Was it ever programmed for the tire size? 5.13's in a 3.6 with 35's is a bad idea if you drive this thing on the streets which I have a feeling is the only place it gets driven.

Asking since no one else has - who makes an 8" lift for a JK?
