If you leave the switches off everything works just like factory (indicators go solid). I assume the flashing with the switches has something to do with the computer not sensing the t-case being in low.

Guaranteed to cause intermittent problems when you least want them to happen. Please use a properly crimped connection (like all your factory wiring) or solder. T-taps suck...

Just splice into the wiring going into the relay box. When that wire is grounded it will trigger the relay and turn on the locker no matter what transfer case position or speed you are traveling.

and, Don-A-Vee - you have got to be the greatest dealer ever. answer me one more thing...where the locker / sway bar / blah blah blah panel is, does DC make a blank for that? or do the basic models just have buttons for the hazards / ESP, like the old TJ's without the rear defrost / fog lights / whatever else went there?
There are just blanks there. I doubt a switch could be mounted in one becasue of the way the integrated switch thingy sits behind them.

I plan on changing it when I get time. I just wanted to see if it actually worked first before I went to all the trouble of tearing down the wire looms. There isn't much room in the area so it will take some work to get at the wires to solder something onto them. I do agree with you that t-taps aren't very reliable and are meant for temporary use only.

So, with this mod, can you run just the rear locker in 2hi... If so, this would be awesome, and great for offroad, sometimes i hate using 4x4 hehe....
One other question, just so im straight, with this mod, you can run both the front and rear lockers, independently of each other at any transfercase position and at any speed...right or does it still cut it out at 40mph

This is an "at your own risk" type of modification.

Of course a responsible dealer would only claim non-warranty if the issue was directly related the the mod performed.

Awesome help. Thanks to all who contributed. I would like to make one little (probably obvious) comment regarding safety.

Do not place the switches in a location where they may be accidentally switched to ground while you are at speed on the highway. Put them out of the way of anywhere you normally reach. This is more important for anyone else that may drive your Jeep, or be in it. Maybe these lockers won't throw the Jeep much if they accidentally lock, but some do. Best not to try it.
