LOD bumper install problems
I ran mine under the jeep, down the frame rail, then up some other wires to the engine bay. Wired to switch and battery, then i could turn off and on at will. I was worried that i would blind somebody by accident in reverse
Ran mine as reverse lights they works awesome i cant take credit for doing it though (( electrical systems. and me No bueno) but also have them on a switch so i can use it either way . They used the the back up light harness.
No, I read that you shouldnt unless you rewire the reverse lights with a thicker wire. The stock reverse lights are 15 watts I think. THese are 35 or 55 watts. This requires a thicker gauge wire.
It sounds like a great idea but I kind of like having it on a switch. THis switch filled the last hole in my A Pillar switch pod.

I have the shorty, which from what I understand is about 20 lbs. less than the full, and that thing was no joke. I had a friend help me get it on and aligned to mark the holes, then I had to roll solo to get the bumper back on after I drilled, and I'm pretty sure I almost died twice. I ended up jerry rigging a stand with 2x4s, homer buckets, and a floor jack to get finally get it back in position. Lesson learned...use the buddy system when installing these bad boys. God help me when one of the lights goes out.
I ran my electrical up through the driver tail light cavity and into the jeep, under the carpet and out to a switch unit I have installed under the hood. Wiring was pretty straight forward, but the wires included weren't long enough so I had to splice. Overall really pleased with LoD. I was missing the grease fitting as well, but Chris promised to send me a new one. I have the shorty on the front as well, and I'm waiting for the rails to come.
Here's some pics.

Wow! I never thought of that! That is going to suck big time. Your bumper looks awesome by the way. I didn't know if I should get the shorty when I first considered this bumper. It looks really good.
Whose ugly toe is that?
seriously it still looks that way.
