Default LOD rear bumper line x and mounting problems?

I just got my signature LOD shorty tire carrier yesterday and I was thinking about having it line xed before the install. (no damage and the boxes were in good shape)

My question is if it is line xed on the inside will it change the size where it is mounted to the jeep. I would hate to get it sprayed and then have it be a PITA to get on the jeep because it does not fixed.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but it is my first bumper instal

thanks for the help

my LoD just barely fit over the frame rails. i had to use grease to get it on and even then i had to kick it on, thats how tight it was. i would not recommend line-xing the inside of it.

Mine was really tight as well, I used some grease and a large rubber mallet and finally broke the handle then went to the kicking method. If you get it line-x'ed don't get the portion of the bumper that fits along the frame rails.

also want to mention that getting it off was a PIA, also. i used a hand winch to a tree to back the bumper off. you will need to install and then remove the bumper and install again during install. also you will need to remove the bumper to change the reverse light bulbs. grease will be your friend for this install.

Thanks for the response. This is what I am worried about. Is it a tight fit only where the bumper bolts to the frame ( ie 4 bolts per side?) And / or the horizontal frame running between the tabs that have the 4 bolt?

I'll try and post pictures when I get a chance

you should be fine if you only spray the outside. the bolts supplied will be long enough. if you spray the inside, it may interfere with mounting.

Thanks for the good info. That will really help with the install. I'll make sure to get my heavy work boots, hand winch, and some grease.

Add a jack to the list it makes it much easier to level and hold in place.
