Getting a six inch lift will not give you any more ground clearance. The only thing that gives you more ground clearance is larger tires.

Going from stock tires at about 31" to 35" tires will give you an additional two inches of ground clearance, more or less.

Start with the Suspension, Wheel & Tires, Axles Gears and Drivetrain FAQ's. Then search on anything you need more info on, and of course, ask more questions.

Also check this one and see if that's the look you're going for...

Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken here, but a 6" lift won't give you 14" of clearance at the diffs. It will give you 8". Taller tires are what gives you ground clearance, not the lift, so you would need to slap on some 44" tires to get you to 14" at the diffs? (assuming stock 32's. 12" taller tire, cut in half, gives an extra 6" at the diffs?) Though the lift will keep some of the rest of the underside off the logs...
No, but it will give him the (breakover)clearance for driving over logs

These guys are right for the most part!

A good 3.5" lift like any of our X Factor Mid Arm or Long Arm Systems, flattie fenders wether they be metal like River Raider or functional equivalent or plastic from Xenon will easily clear 37's and be much easier on your wallet overall.

Hope that helps.

Roger that, 2" cause tires are round and only one side on the ground. but he will get more ground clearance, just not at the axles.
Rubicon lists 10.1" for ground clearance at curb weight. I just measured 14" from the skid plate low point, bottom center of my jeep. 2.5"TF BB installed w/stiffer springs up front. So in theory I should be able to roll up and over a less than 14" log without hanging up too bad.

3.25 inch lift with true 35 inch tires gives you 15 inches. No need to go 6 inches for that.

I'm still learning about all this stuff too, but won't the on-road performance suffer quite a bit with a 6" lift and 37" tires? Especially with tall sidewalls, seems it would be prone to wander around a bit.

Use the winch and move the trees!

If you can afford those mods you can afford a Rubicon.

im not to smart but even with 20 inches of lift aint ya still gonna have that same 8 inches of ground clerance???i think so,so the only way to raise ground clearance would be those 37s ya dont want!!!!!!!!! 3-4 inches of lift with 35s and 4.88s OX lockers and call it a day!!!!!

i really dont want to sound rude in a place where im getting the help BUT... does it really matter why i want 6".

and having lift does increase ground clearance (at least for the frame anyway)
so i could drive over trees, since you drive over them perpendicular rather than try to grind them like a skateboard to a handrail.

i really dont intend on getting any bigger tires (i know it would look a lottle wierd having 6" of lift with little doughnuts as wheels) that makes it look a little more unique.

lockers- umm if i have to i would end up getting autolockers, but id prefer manual so i could engage them ONLY when i needed them. altho i havent found any manual ones yet that use cables.

here's rough list of what you will need.

1. a long arm kit (teraflex or full traction) with high steer kit (preferably)
2. extended brake lines
3. new drive shafts front and rear. (or youll have to get them soon)
4. new wheels with around 4.5" backspacing to clear the swaybar links.
5. lockers, i would go with arb, running air lines is not as big a deal as running cables
6. adjustable trackbars
and some other stuff that i cant think of at the mo.
oh and 7. alot of dosh

good luck
