A really cheap mod that works adequately is using a floor mat as a sand ladder. If your up a creek then its not a bad idea.

Added LED reverse lights and flipped the tail lights back to the tj style.

Default climbing rope for kids in rear

Cheap <$10.

I attached a rope to the Head rest and door strap. My kids use it to get into the back seat. Also made one for front pass seat with same rope a rope clamp from HD.
