Magnuson vs. Ripp on 2015 JK (Help)
Hello All... Can anyone provide your insight(s) with Magnuson vs. RIPP Superchargers on 2015 JK ... If you have either of these systems, are you satisfied? Any issues, wish i would have...type things?
Thanks In advance for the info!

Pretty sure only RIPP is an option for a 2015. Chrysler locked the computer. They send a whole new one (hence the higher price).
The roots type chargers are better for offroading though. Way more power off the bottom. The RIPP doesn't start making power until higher RPMs.

thanks... I would prefer a roots type (Magnuson)... Looking for the low end and highway merge type power... Thanks also for the insight on the locked computer... I did notice no one else had "2015" listed except RIPP... maybe that limits me off the bat... I've read a bunch of threads on swaps... but it's just not in the budget..
Thanks!

Have you regeared? That makes a huge difference. Dang near feels like a super charger. DTS does it for a really good price (about 30 min from you). I had 37s with 4.88 gears and it was like a go-cart. Went 5.38 with 40s this time around. Same engine as you.
Btw, we have a large Jeep club in eastern MI. Free and open to new members. It's a Facebook group page. Hasn't been around long and over 200 members, so everyone is a new face. Just did a run to Bundy this weekend.

I actually pick my jeep up on Wednesday... I am planning the build and wanting to get things ordered and going before summer roles around.. I plan on doing a Teraflex 6" lift, with some other goodies, 38" or 40" tires.. Gears depending on the tires,etc.. Just wasn't sure that would be enough (well what is ).. DTS? I spoke with Venom as well as Unlimited Off-Road.. any other suggestions.
Thanks, Sean

Find the thread below on 6" lifts (it was within the last couple days). Way too tall. I ran 2.5" on 37s. You can run 40s on 3.5". There are numerous reasons not to.

And if you're planning to run 38"+ tires you need to make some axle upgrades like a truss and gussets. However, running that size tire on stock axles is not recommended. You really should step up to D60s. Especially to get the axle width.
38s are wide and generally if you can clear them, you can run 40s without additional clearance.
Lastly, lift height has almost nothing to do with tire clearance. That's another topic though

Here's my build thread if you want to see my path to 40s. Many iterations and a couple axle swaps later. Link is to another forum. My thread is here too, but lots more chatting so it takes a while to get through, haha.

Just to Clarify,
Our system makes as much as 40% more power and 5psi as low as 2800 RPM, torque converter locks up, 2200-2400RPM, putting you right in our power band. Don't let the others skew the facts.

What about those of us with a manual? I'd buy a RIPP if it made a meaningful difference from 1000-2500. I have all the low range gearing I want in the rocks, but the 3.6L could use some help at those RPMs.
