It really is like a small V8 compared to the 3.8. I really think the 3.8 is almost dangerous from lacking power. I tooK a trip up to S.F. from Newport Beach on the flatest stretch of road you've ever seen and basically had to floor my 2011 because the head wind was keeping me from going past 75 mph, AND I went through 4 tanks of gas on that trip. If possible, upgrade to a 2012, forget the blower on the pre 12 because you still have that garbage tranny. Just my 2 cents from personal experience.
Amen brother

I won't name car brands because unlike me, other people own cars that are not Jeeps and I don't want to offend anyone, unintentionally. So, All summer long I get cut off, buzzed by, revved on, tailgated. I know it isn't personal, I see it all the time towards many other drivers. I just shrug at it and feel good that I don't act like a complete a$$ all the time when I drive. Seems people are always in a hurry and they don't care who gets railroaded, as long as they make it to their destination on time or look good doing it. I don't get in a hurry. BUT when winter comes that is MY time to wreak the havoc on the A$$es that have been pricks all summer long. Winter is when I leave the snow storm in their face and keep on truckin.

What goes around comes around.

I am sure that somewhere that Prius was headed to a sad tree that needed a good long hugging.

I know how you feel about the highway ability of the jeep, but i just got my jeep out this pass week on the trails (for the first time) and the family loved it!!!! NO way I could of done that with the Prius.
I am right there with you... Wife has the 05 Blue Prius that Jeff Dunham mocks. It is the long trip highway car unless we are headed to the beach or mountains. 3X the gas mileage of my Jeep. But the Jeep wins cool points on every other count.

and to the OP. Prius' aren't slow. And I'm not afraid to put my foot in it, I'll get what? 30 mpg? instead of 45.

I'm going to look in to speed mods now. If it were an airplane I'd be smoothing out those rivets...

So, what's the best bang for the buck for horsepower? It's an 08 2dr on 35" w/ 4". I need a regear I know but anything else? Anybody turbo'd these things?
You'd gain so much driveability just by doing that. I'd be willing to bet you'd be happy with the power for atleast 4-6 months after that mod........but then it'll set in that you need a SC or LSX motor swap. Ask me how I know...
