We have a yoga type tree hugging doctor at work who drives a Prius. I have thanked him a few times for driving that thing, saving the gas for me to pour into my Jeep. He is a nice fella, but I do not envy his vehicle, especially this time of year.

However, unlike me, he drives a lot of highway miles, so there is a practical reason he has it.

I still like to tease him though.

I must admit if I saw him on the expressway I would probably not let him pass me, just on principal.

It's not watching a Prius pass me that pisses me off... It almost never happens anyway, as many of those drivers seem to be more focused on maximizing MPG than dealing with something as plebeian as passing other vehicles.

What really ticks me off is when a minivan loaded down with half a soccer team walks away from me with no apparent effort.

I know our JK's aren't that fast but I have 37's and there's no problem getting up to speed on the interstate, passing when I need to and it will run all day with the cruise set on 85. It's not on par with my Infiniti but it's by no means slow. I have an '09 automatic 2-dr with the stock engine, a FP programmer, K&N drop in filter, cat-back and 5.13 gears. A Prius does 0-60 in ~10 seconds which my JK will do trail ready. With the top and doors off and my handy iPhone stopwatch I can do 0-60 in just under 10 seconds. My buddies '12 2-dr, completely stock will run 0-60 in right at 8 seconds. Once you're at highway speed it's hard to compare a Jeep to a car because the aerodynamics are so completely different.

Oh, and we used to have a Nissan Quest minivan and I loved pissing off kids in their little Civics at red lights.

I'm going to look in to speed mods now. If it were an airplane I'd be smoothing out those rivets...

So, what's the best bang for the buck for horsepower? It's an 08 2dr on 35" w/ 4". I need a regear I know but anything else? Anybody turbo'd these things?
It was just the stuck gas pedal, dont worry about it

Someone at the gas station with a prius once asked me "is the money you spend in gas for that thing worth the fun you have in it?" I replied "Is the money you save on gas by driving that thing worth all the no-fun you're having?" those were the only words we exchanged and we went on our merry ways, me with my top down and the doors off

The reason I traded my 2011 for a 2012 Rubicon. Operating at 10,000 ft + kills power.
