Bump stops limit up-travel, not down-travel. They keep the tires from ripping your fenders off and/or the shocks/coils from over-compressing. The 'short' extended length of the shocks is what is limiting his down-travel. But, going to longer shocks without going to taller coils may also cause the coils to unseat or even fall out when flexed. So, coil retainers or limiting straps may also be needed. Ans as they noted above, he also needs to consider the ca joints, and...

You definitely need longer shocks with the OME HD coils. The stock shocks are too short and will be over extended. This is limiting your droop and the shocks will eventually be damaged. I'd look into the OME LT or Bilsteins.

Found the Rock Krawler susesion kit nacho posted the pic of. Looks like a good setup.
Thier shock prices are really high and don't look they're part of the kit.
Wonder if I could run the OME LT's with their 3.5 kit and keep my Jeep close to it's current ride height???

Things that limit travel are the shocks, brake lines, abs lines, control arms, track bar, sway bar/links (if not disconnected or Rubicon), and bump stops. If you want more travel start with a tape and measure your current travel then start disconnecting things to see what is limiting your travel. Remove your bump stops and flex to see if you need them (I'm running 1" on the rear w/ 4" lift and 37's) if you do rub measure for the min bump stop you need. If everything maxes out then it's your control arms/track bar.

so i just got these shocks from 4WHEELPARTS i only bought the front two for about $37.99 each.
Softride Hydro Shock by Skyjacker
Part Number: SKYH7075
2007-11 JK Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited with 6" lift, front (I HAVE A 2.5" SPACER LIFT)
Collapsed length (in.): 15.56
Extended length (in.): 26.750
Shock stroke (in.): 11.20
i wanted to get the OME LT shocks but lets just say they weren't $37.99. i wanted to get shocks that were easy on the wallet and have similar lenghts as the OME LT shocks (Collapsed length (in.): 16" Extended length (in.): 27.50")
here are a couple of pics. im pretty sure im missing some details.

I figured this out on accident. I'm getting the evo rock star rear control arm skids. They also movr the rear shock mount up 1 1/2 inches for clearence. a side effect of that is that it will give you 1 1/2 more inches of flex in the rear by allowing the axle to drop before the shock extends all the way out. Its a win/win. more clearance and more flex.
