Metalcloak Thread

I bought a '13 JKU that came with a new Rough Country 3.5" suspension lift on it. After spending some time trying to figure out what components needed to be upgraded to get a decent ride quality, i found the answer to be "everything."
Went with the MetalCloak 3.5" kit and couldn't be happier. Softer ride, better handling, smoother cornering, better flex - it's a completely new Jeep.
Sometimes you have to taste the sour to appreciate the sweet.

To be clear, I put my Jeep through a very high level of abuse. If I recall, it was a 4ft drop off a ledge landing on one rear control arm onto a pointed rock. Honestly, I could have left it and been fine, but was about the sell the kit and decided it was best to warranty out.

I guess that makes perfect sense... keep in mind i have nothing yet, still stock. either getting the 2.5 or 3.5 GC and want to select tires and wheels next but which do you select first? I want to run 35's on a 17" wheel. i just like the look of 17's. help would be apprecated.

FAQ's and Thoughts On Lifts are stuck right to the top of this Modified area. Both will give some background on backspacing and tire size vs lift height. Also take your choice of stock vs chopped vs flat flares into account. (and whether you are going with the 6paks...)
But the general recommendation for 35x12.50's is a 4.5" backspace. (roughly 1.75" further out than stock rims.)
