Wow. I'm sure this is accurate David, but I would buy another track bar before I did the rock crawling/interstate driving I do with only 1" of thread engagement. I'm certainly no expert, but reading in the forum about track bar failures (not speaking of JKS solely here) isn't out of the ordinary. TBs must have a lot of force on them while being flexed during off-road riding.
I am not syaing he only has 1"of thread engagement all I was saying is that 1" is fine to have. It does not appear that he has 3" of thread exposed.

Default JKS Track Bar Lengths

He is me, and you're correct there is about an inch and a half of thread showing now with the new shorter re-designed bar. With the older "hoop" design, only about 1/2" was unthreaded.

I also appreciate Dave pitching in here, but wouldn't mind hearing from JKS with respect to the length of the new bar. Are all the new "straight" bars only 26" in length versus the 27" of the older "hoop" design?

If any one else with the new design could take a minute to measure their bar from the center of the bolt hole on the frame side, to the end of the bar that the axle insert threads into, I would greatly appreciate it - just want to make sure 26" is the length of the Wrangler JK bar, and that there wasn't some slight mix-up at JKS when they sent me mine. Thanks.

So the JKS track bar with 4" of lift will have this many threads showing? And its still a solid unit? Are there any other track bars out there that would be a bit stronger or are there no strength issues whatsoever?

I was just about to pull the trigger on one of these until now. I have to replace my Superlift track bar because of slop in the heim and water seeping behind the htreads that has started to rust, I would rather not ever have to replace a track bar again. That being said, will the JKS hold up over time?

I just installed one this morning and it is 26" long and I checked a few we had in stock and they are all 26"

Also The jeep we put it on has a 4" Lift and we have 1.75" thread engagement plus the Jam nut. I see no issue with this at all .

Its not a issue in My opinion. 1.75 thread engagement plus a Jam nut. Have not had any Failures with the New bar .

Also just so people understand the new Bar has been shipping since May of 2009!!

Made in the USA and it is a great price.

Dave - do you do anything special to keep the jam nut tightened/snugged against the track bar? I haven't had much luck as mine constantly backs off as does another JKS TB jam nut on a friend's JK. Finally had to resort to "tacking" it with Goop (looks like that old clear model airplane glue).

blue loctite should do the trick

or if you really want to make sure it stays, take apart and install a second nut on there. tighten the first jam nut down, then hold nut 1 and tighten nut 2 against nut 1 making sure nut 1 does not move when nut 2 is tightened.

if this is not done correctly, the whole purpose of 2 nuts will be useless. but it should not have to come to the 2 nut method, try the loctite and should be fine

When we install them we set the length , check it and then take the trackbar off and use a huge wrench and put all 200 pounds into it and they have not came loose. When you think it's tight tighten it more

Thanks Dave - didn't even occur to me that I could tighten the jam nut with the TB off the Jeep.
