There isn't a difference in diameter between the two shafts right? I'm just trying to wrap my hear around why I need to change parts to accommodate..

Yes the 30 spline and 35 spline are two different diameters. The 35 should be 1.5"

Thinking about cutting the spindle and replacing... What are you thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan, make sure to use a jig so that everything is straight.

I just want to start buying things so I need to start collecting parts number and things like that.. I am going to have the whole thing sandblasted..

30 spline D60 shaft is 1.31" diameter, pretty much the same as a factory non rubi rear D44.... The only gain is full float.

35 spline, like dirtman said, is 1.5" diameter.

Ok I admit it, can someone please explain full float vs my factory non rubi d 44?

On a full float axle the wheels are attached the housing thru the bearings and hub. The axle shaft is independent and just turns the wheels. This removes the weight off the shafts and onto the stronger housing.

I wish I could get a list of everything I need to get for this axle... I'm trying to learn but damn...


Hubs
Wheel studs
Hub bearings
Rotors (I was told for this axle to find stock 75 Chevy 3/4 ton front rotors)
Calipers -- I have elderado calipers and pads
