I'll have to look at your thread and build... But my axle didn't come with hubs... So it's a matter of buying and installing... I have a guy telling me to get hubs from the ford dealer and buy bearings from autozone... Don't know how I feel about that...

Looking for a set of rubi take offs sound like your best bet. You can usually find the set for less then $3k and they will be a direct bolt on and you just need to run a 12v powered switch to the axle to turn on the locker.
I'm doing a bunch of stuff over the winter, it's all purpose based...

I want to be able to take on tougher trails, a big part of that is Jeep jamborees

Currently I can only really do up to level 5's, my goal is to be able to do up to 6 or 7's

A big part of that is needing to install lockers

I've gotten a lot of input and pretty much everyone suggests that it just makes sense while your in there installing lockers to make any gearing changes that you've been thinking about.

With the 3:21's it's perfectly driveable other than sixth gear really only being usable if your going downhill with a slight tailwind

In general I'm perfectly happy with my 33's, but for tougher trails it looks like I should try and add some more height and 315's only seem to add about 1.4" over my current 285's

So it just makes sense to look into what is involved in going to 37's

A lot of the advice I got was to just grade the wheels to 35 or 37 and only replace/reinforce stuff as it breaks...no offense but that's just not the way I want to do it

The Dynatrac is a very nice complete solution, a package with a bow on it, it's not cheap but it's pretty much turnkey, and if I get the Dynatrac 60 for the rear at the same time I can get a really good deal

Still talking to my local 4x4 shop owner, he's a great resource and great at helping me come up with the right fix for the issue at hand

But for me it's just about being able to go out there and do what I like to do

If that means Dynatrac 44 + 60 then that's what I'll do

I can goto as many Jeep Jamborees as I want to, only thing really holding me back is the capabilities of my jeep and my level of experience

The better my Jeep the more I can try with my local 4x4 club and be better prepared for the more challenging trails at the Jamborees

All that really matters is how far I want to drive to get to each Jamboree!

Before you buy anything get you a fresh notepad and a good pencil.

Write down everything you will need brakes, seals, bearings ,gear's etc etc Price them all out and decide if the cost is something you can live with.

Then read the Dana 60 bible it has great info if you choose to stick with the rear 60.

You have lots of work to do to clean up those spindles and most likely they are going to be pitted pretty badly. The work and cost involved in replacing the spindles just isnt worth it.

Thanks for the info and the link

I really just wanted the same thing that Northridge has put together with their d44 but for the back and I guess Dynatrac has no plans to build that in a rear configuration

I may just wind up having my current rear 44 changed over with a locker added and gears changed and new axles

Thanks man! Awesome info... Looking for a Dana 60 rear bible... Maybe I should tackle a front first and burn the d30 lol but I'll have to get the rear cleaned for sure to see what the spindle looks like!

yeah or you can get the hubs from a junk yard but the bearing from autozone will be fine they will most likely be timken and if you just want new stuff go to broncograveyard.com and they will have every part you need for your axles and they are cheap too also dont forget to order the spindle nuts, the yukon nut/locks are nice and are heavy duty

As far as the disc brakes... Have you heard of people doing what I was told? One guy on a forum said it was great,.. Others said no..
