considering your low usage...Smittybuilt is economically the way to go...

not to start a "foreign made" discussion, but I think Warn is one of the last ones still assembled in the US (w/ a few foreign components)...

Thanks all for the info guys, I should have my winch and XHD stubby on monday! I also opted for the Lifetime warranty on the winch for 45$ just in case the thing does blow out, so hopefully its worth it.

I think you'll like it. I used mine for the first time a few weeks back . We were playing in the mountains and got stuck in 30" of heavy wet snow. Hooked a strap around a tree and started pulling. The XRC8 didn't even break a sweat and pulled us right back onto the trail.

I also bought the XRC8 and have no complaints so far. I cracked the derby plate during the installation, called them up and they sent me a free replacement no questions asked. I got the synthetic line and so far I pulled 2 jeeps out of quick sand with it.
