Default Tuffy Product

Question for tuffy2 -

This product appears to be just what I'm looking for to fit in my 2dr JK. Your web site says the top and forward panels are easily removed.

Can only the lid or only the front panel be removed too?

Your web site says it works with the JK hard top or soft top. Are any pictures available with a JK soft top folded down with this product? I'm curious if the soft top folds down properly with this product installed particularly the lid.

Thanks

You can remove only the top or the front panel. It does work with the hard top or soft top but I don't have any pictures with a soft top right now.

Still need pics with a soft top? I just installed mine last week.

We did get a couple of pics with the soft top on one of our sales guys Jeeps, but we can always use good pictures. If you have some and don't mind sharing, send them my way. I can PM you with my e-mail address.

Thanks

I sent you some pics tuffy2, but don't worry about showing the ones with the MOPAR soft top boot. It would appear that the soft top boot will not work with the Security Deck installed. The side walls and top of the Security Deck sit to high, such that the cross-bars of the soft top don't rest as far down as needed. This prevents the soft top from collapsing as far down as needed to install the soft top boot. I could barely zip it up. However, I could not get it pushed down tight enough to secure the straps of the boot to the roll cage bar, nor could I secure the flaps to the back edge of the jeep.

I have mine installed and it's great! I put spring-loaded tie downs on and they work very well - and no rattles when there's nothing to tie down. Instead of buying the diamond plate mat from Tuffy, I found a similar one (same thickness, UV protected, oil and stain resistant, etc.) on McMaster-Carr for less than 1/2 the price! (sorry, Tuffy). And it comes in gray (my choice to reduce heat) or black. No rattles and my stuff below is secure. Yay!

It is a bit of a rain catcher. I think I notice it more since it funnels all of the water out the few drain holes. There is no more water in the back because of it, but it does concentrate it on the carpet below in just a few spots. So instead of everything getting a little damp, I get a few spots that are really wet.

The only complaint is the back edge of the tray rails rub into the back seat. You can see the mark where I need to let the cutting wheel do some magic.

That looks good. Do you have any more pics from the rear with the tail gate open/closed?

Hey AZJeeper, I am not getting that rub of the front of the security deck against the back of my rear seats. I wonder if it is how you positioned the screws, as some of the holes are such that you can move the wall slightly forward or back. You may want to look at that before doing any grinding or cutting.

NOW you tell me! Already fixed it. Took 1/2 inch off at a diagonal (like marked in the pictures I posted). Left about 1/2 inch of clearance. I noticed that if you push back hard on the rear seat it will flex almost 1/2 inch, so my clearance is now essentially zero. Is moving the wall "slightly" enough to give 1/2 inch? Since the top is snug against the tail gate, is there really any more room to push the wall back?

I already had rub marks on the carpet on the back of the rear seat, and it's only been the dog back there so far. I thought if someone of my portly stature was to sit back there the rubbing would only get worse. Now no worries!
