Default New tires -- Looking for advice.

I have a 2011 stock sahara, 2dr. A while ago I purchased bilstein 5100 shocks and a 2.5" rubicon express coil lift kit, but never installed it. Now, I need new tires. I am transitioning between jobs and don't have a lot of money to spend. I was thinking of keeping the jeep suspension stock. The jeep currently has the Rubicon coils and red Rubicon shocks on it. So, my questions are:

What is the biggest tire I can run on the stock 18" Sahara rims with the stock suspension? I'm looking to get a Mud Terrain tire because I like the look. Also, what's a good brand to get without breaking the bank?

If I do decide to put the lift on, what's the largest tire I can run with the stock sahara rims?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

33s with no problem on the stock suspension, you'll need spacers to prevent rubbing with the extra tire width though, but you could ditch the stock rims and go with a 15 or 16 inch rim and tire for less than an 18" tire by itself, the cost per tire goes up substantially as the rim size increases.

Also if you decide to throw on the lift 35 is probably about the biggest you'd want to run with a 2.5" lift

Just curious but isn't the jk brakes set up for no smaller than a 17" rim? I didn't think you could run a 15" rim on the jk's..

Yes and no

Some 15s will fit but others will rub the brake caliper but you can grind the caliper or rim to make them fit..

I run 15x8 mb tko's love em no rubbing I'm on a budget as well and since you have the lift you might as well throw 35s on there. You'll see that a 18 inch tire will be more expensive than a most 15" Rims and tires

Thanks, everyone! Now I am thinking I will price some 15" wheels and 35" tires. Any suggestions on brands? I like the look of a flat black wheel. Steelies?

I would check NTWonline they have Pro Comp tire 35" and up $100 off a set. I just got a set of 35" 17's for $1120.

Check the Maxxis Bighorn. When I got my 35's, they were about 100 less per tire than the big names. (KM2, MTR/K, etc)

You should also do a search on Treadwright tires. Haven't tried them myself, but back when I was looking for my last set, these were getting lots of great reviews. Might be an option.
