Well way I look at it if I get stuck in the mud I have a winch and friends to pull me out. On ice/ snow all I have is tires keeping me from hitting cars and trees.

My KM2's haven't had issues in snow (Living in Denver). However, I don't think any tire (unless studded) would handle well on ice. My friend with the GY's likes his in snow too.

Duratracs are the tire of choice for all around performance. 315/70/17 is the size 35-12.5-17 is not made in a Duratrac.
