I was just reading over the expedition thread earlier and was looking at all the trailers on their. I am a 2 dr and I thinks trait would be the best route for hailing things/having a tent set up on. Plus I wouldn't loose my usability of the soft top.
Some pics of mine. I bought it turn key down in Vancouver this summer. When I sell my place, I'll be swapping out the tent for an autohome (or another hard shelled tent), which I think I'll prefer a lot better. I think that will work better for me when I camp out in rest stops on the drive south (I feel uncomfortable using the tent with it hanging over the side (specifically in rest stops on the side of the highway) - I don't know why).
Would like to add power, water, a new lid and painted to match... but I need to decide if I'm keeping this one, or going to a tear drop first. Hopefully the new tent makes this one a little better for me.
It hasn't impacted my gas mileage much at all. Got 14-15MPG in the mountains, and 16-17.5 on the flats (hand calculated) - which as far as I'm concerned is damn good. Loaded, weighs about 1300 lbs. Jeep is stock height with heavy 33x13.5s & f/r bumpers. I did the trip this summer with the full doors, and carried the soft doors in the trailer (full doors stayed at my parents place in Van).
With the matching wheels (the only mod I've done other than pulling the ammo cans).

From this summer when I first picked it up.
