here is my trailer I got a few months ago. its going to be my winter project. I am going to swap the axle for the one that I can run the same wheels and tires that I have on my jeep. Debating on painting it or bedline it. I have a few months to make my mind up.

You don't have to. But the one thats on there is very heavy. The whole trailer is pretty heavy, so it makes sense to try and lighten it up where possible. Yes, if you're going to swap the axle, you swap the whole thing. Yes and no. The stock axle isn't that hard to remove, but you'd have to remove/disconnect the stock axle brakes (those are kinda nice).
As for the actual work... no not hard, it's just some bolts.

was the bolt pattern a match, or did you convert the hubs?
Very clean, nice cover.

You can also get adapters to go from the stock axle to the 5x5 pattern. Cost me ~150 inc shipping. Allowed me to keep the stock park break (which is nice) and have matching wheels.

Mines going to be built over this winter. Its at the dealership (stealership) now with a 1000 dollar repair bill for fixing the cables etc.
I am putting it inside the garage, putting some extended shakles on it, welding in some extra bracing, shock mounts to mount my extra pro comp shocks I have here. Adding enough lift to get approx 12" of clearance under it with new all terrain tires. On the back of the rig I will be mounting a gear shelf for my generator, extra gas and other various items I dont want stinkin up the inside. on the roof I have a roof rack for various toys like mountain bikes, kayaks and more storeage via a roof top box.
Hopfully I will have it all done by the spring.
