Here's my rig. I built a copy of a 416 only 10% bigger everywhere. It has 21 gallons of fresh pressurized water, 110v power, solar charging system, Propane, ARB fridge, LED flood lights for camp sight lighting, and can sleep 7.

 

The racks are for off-road lights & my kayak.

 

This is mine. I traded a Troybilt 42" riding mower for it. I have taken the wiring off, it was ran thru the box, took everything out from inside (the wood devidors, carpet all greasy), it has 5x5.5, so gonna get adaptors. Move the axle forward, put running boards on to store stuff, change from 2" ball to pintle hook up, then to put the tent on top.

Looks like a great project! Why do you want to move the axle?

I guess I didn't get this in the officail spot! So here it is. Not totally finished but getting close! 6 feet long inside space 4 feet wide at top, waterproof. All made custom... trailer house axle (4000?). Getting new tires on it Thursday. Made originally as bearproof storage that could be hauled to a site and dropped for a week for outfitters... several were made to be hauled behid argo's and quads. My Dad made them. This one was on 10 inch rim and a real low rider. We swaped in 14.5 inch rims and large axle. I lined it with heavy rubber floor liner, wired it, made places to hold a Box saw, hatchet, 2 fishing poles, shovel, axe, spikes and jerry cans. it can be opened and the side tied to hooks and towed with top down or covered. I put my "jeep" tent in the trailer... sleeps about 8 people, zips to back of the jeep. Holds a spare tire underneath. The trailer has a lot of tie down points on it to attach tarps etc...


The color...well it was the left over cans of paint we had in the garage... so we did a blue /green camo look.

I plan on putting a spare battery in it since the jeep plug I have has a wire for brakes and battery charging. I might look at getting the brakes working on the axle as well.

Completely from scratch. I can give you sort of a parts list but a lot of it is welding and bulk steel.

 

I was told it would be better, plus to balance the trailer, the trailer now has a lot if tongue weight. By bringing the axle forward more of the weight is on the springs.
