do we disconnect everything in between those two steps or before jacking up the frame? I've got the instructions but it seems while jacking up by the frame, you'd want the sways disco'd first, no?

didn't really feel like starting a new thread. :\
Jack up the frame and set it on stands. Disconnect everything from the axles (brake calipers, swaybar links, shocks) and then drop the axle using your floor jack. Be sure to tie up your calipers with a zip tie or bungee cord so as not to put any undue stress on the lines. Also, if you're not replacing the lines, at least pull them out from the lower shock mounts and reroute them. On the 2011+, the lines are plenty long enough; you just need to reroute them because they're routed through the lower shock mounts in the front using a bracket. May want to cut that bracket off, too.

Looking up the install video for the teraflex 2.5" kit on youtube will show you everything you need to know. They have the jeep up on a lift, in your case, you would have it sitting on the frame on jackstands. Once you have it in the air, you use the floor jack (or two if you want), to support the axle while you disconnect everything to prepare for droop

Now, we are all assuming you are kidding.

The biggest problem with 1.5 ton jackstands is they are too short. Rusty or not.

Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply, and Northern Tool all sell 6 ton jack stands for less than $50.00 a pair (and you only need one pair).

You will be laying under the JK, buy something that will hold it up high enough and protect you.
