The old school superchips flashpaq takes the throttle lag out and has an "off-road" mode to allow you to relax the throttle response for off-road situations. I added the SC a couple months after I bought mine because I couldn't stand the electronic throttle. The jeep has been more enjoyable without the lag, about 182k miles enjoyable and I've not run into any reliability issues with it.

Rebel off-road is having a sale on the pedal commander, maybe see if they'll conduct a test of what results you're looking for from it and see if it's worth the $$$$.

I have Sprint Booster v3 on my JK 2007 manual.
it is works perfectly, the difference is huge on throttle response. The only issue is you loose mpg.
The SB v3 it has “pedal lock” mode too
and is a clever anti thief system.
My SB work with superchips,Volant snorkel,Banks power with no issues.

have one in my Jeep something like this https://10carbest.com/pedal-commander-review I do have to say that I definately enjoy not having that Lag when driving on the highway. I keep it constantly in City (3) mode and I have actually added 25 extra miles to a tank of gas and I normally drive at 70mph.

Now for those who are curious, extra power.......nope! I know some who swear they are, but they just aren't getting that its just the removal of the lag and as you switch to sport setting.

I am pleased with it and for my usage of it. When I buy my wife her jeep I will have one installed in hers too. It is a bitch if you don't remember to turn off when off roading. you want all the control in your pedal when climbing over rocks. Just my thoughts on it.

I installed a Pedal Commander and love it. It gives you a lot of adjustable positions and gets rid of that annoying lag in pedal response. I am sure you can get the same results from some tuning items but this is a fairly easy mod. (the hardest part was getting to the connector on top of the pedal). Mine is Bluetooth capable and can adjust on the fly. I would caution making adjustment while on the throttle. it can cause the limp home mode. all you have to do is shut the jeep off and restart to reset it. Happy Jeeping!!!

So what's the difference between the different modules? Why the vast cost difference? I've seen as low as 160 to over 300. They all claim to adjust the throttle response and have settings for how aggressive it is....

Resurrecting this thread... I know most who have this seem to like the increased throttle response. I’m actually interested in the eco mode. Realistically, what type of MPG increase could I expect, and would it offset the $300 cost?

Disclaimer: Yes, I know it’s a Jeep, not a Prius. But to be frank, I’ve temporarily fallen on hard times, and have had to take on an UberEats side hustle to make ends meet. So trying to make the most of my situation and see where I can improve my MPG efficiency. So respectfully, let’s hold the “buy a Prius” comments. Thanks

You're better off spending that $300 on a set of smaller tires and getting your mpg up that way- provided you've not loaded the vehicle with excessive weight. I swap between 35's on heavy wheels back to factory tires and pick up a couple mpg's. I had 265/70-17's and was able to get around 24hwy with the old 3.8l, hand calculated. Keep your speed under 60mph, leave plenty of distance, brake lightly, all of the hypermiling suggestions you'd read elsewhere. Realistically you could get down to the most basic factory tire size and pick up mpg pretty quickly with those tips. Some 225/70-16's would boost you substantially.

Thanks, I just swapped new tires. Trail grappler to ridge grapplers, down 295/70R17 to 285/70R17, and 15lbs lighter per tire.. not the savings I was hoping for. Still only managing around 11 MPG.... I’ll add this is in LA and it’s all city miles. Even highway is city miles given the traffic here.

I'm familiar with the area. Traffic is hell in about every big city these days. Short trips reduce the MPG a lot too, then add traffic to make about the worst MPG situation.

Not warming up the engine before driving, medium/slow acceleration, coasting rather than braking when possible, and minimizing the idling are some of the old-fashioned techniques that work.
