I glad chuck is now speaking for everyone now. But the superchip, 35" tires, and 4.10 gears work well. Why spend $1500+ for gears. I guess chuck does not have a superchip : (

Just spend some time on here reading posts. It's just common sense on these things that when you beef something up something else may give. Bigger tires and lower gears puts more stress on the parts in between. Axles and u-joints get stressed. Also depends on the type of wheeling you do. Easy trail riding may never have a problem. Get into rock climbing and start getting on the gas may cause issues. We have lots of rock around here to climb on.

I haven't regeared mine yet because I haven't decided if I want to go with 4.56 or 4.88. Local off road shop is recommending 4.88s. I may end up going with 4.88 but I know I don't need lower gearing then that. Funny how the experts that do this for a living are ignored but all the back yard mechanics know the right thing to do here, isn't it? There's plenty of charts out there to look at to see where you are geared right now and where you want to end up power wise and economy wise. Everything is a trade off.

Gears and a Superchip would be nice. And I plan to add the Superchip. But if you think ANYTHING you can plug in is going to accomplish anywhere near what moving from 2050 to 2600 rpm accomplished you're delusional. Aint going to happen outside of the world of diesel tuners.

AGAIN,
I "Simply" ask, who has had problems with their axled breaking?

Apparently SOME make the claim and "DO NOT have" the documentation to prove their statement?

Sorry, considering to re-gear does not work!

Can anyone who HAS experienced this PLEASE reply. Whether you are a Back yard mechanic or a Jeep mechanic. Thi9s forum is supose to be here to help, not make invalid claims.

Thanks.

Let BEAT UP Chuck!

Sorry this does not work for me nor the forum. I agree with Chuch, that the most significant power changes to the Jeep is Re-Gearing. ALL the professionsal, amateurs and Even Eddie from JK Projects has stated that regearing helps.

Again to discourage other and be so deaming HELPS NOONE! That is NOT what this forum needs, so get back on the topic at hand.

I moved to 35" tires this weekend and have 4.10 gears, auto, and the Superchip and would say it is tolerable but if you think it works well your expectation is out of line with most Jeepers I have met. It is drivable and I may try to put up with it for a few months while considering other mods but will be re-gearing as soon as it can all be made to fit in my budget. What one poster thinks is acceptable another will not. I would caution that I think a lot of people will be disappointed with power delivery given this combination.

I thought the 35s were pretty bad on my auto and 4.10s. I don;t understand how some of these guys are running around on 3.73s and 35s and even 37s. IMO 35s and 4.10s is unacceptable. Especially if you offroad (at least around here with hills and mountains). I like to let the engine slow me, not the brakes. with 4.10s I would be riding the brakes all the time offroad.

I have had it for basically a day and was prepared to regear immediately. I drove it right after and was a little surprised it was drivable. After putting about 50 miles on it with some hills and highway it is clear that a regear is coming fairly soon. Two more days of driving and I might decide soon is next week.

Jeez, do the last few responses mean that CHUCK was right! So asks Chuck anyway.

Hey somebody may consider 35's and 4.10's driveable, but I've been there, done that, and it is totally unacceptable - unless your standards fro what is driveable is incredibly low.
