I've had it on my SRT rims for a little over 4 months now and just had to touch up the edges of the rim once. In the summer, I normally wash it a couple times a week and just wipe right over the wheels. It cleans off nice, and makes a nice protective coating.

Once you do it, you'll be addicted and want to put it on everything. I planned to "try" it on one chrome strip and ended up covering everything that was chrome.

Has anyone tried clear Plasti dip on doors or fenders for some scratch protection? Seems like a great solution for someone that does not want to scratch up there $30k jeep.

I bought a whole case of it with the same idea in mind. I've tried it several times on several different areas and can't get it to come out as well as the flat black. I tried it on the front bumper of my SRT and it looked like $hit. I also tried it on a buddy's hood on his new audi. Both vehicles were black so i'm not sure if it would work better on different colors. I put the unused cans on a shelf hoping i'd find some use for it someday.

Thanks for the input. I might try a can on my orange jeep. Even if it does not look good still might be worth it if I do some hardcore wheeling.

You left them on, could this not be really dangerous if any got through on the breaks?

I left mine on as well... I would never want to do it without taping off the brakes etc, but I don't think it would be that bad if a tiny amount got on your brakes, but thats a guess and I did a lot to make sure it didn't happen. So much easier to leave the wheels on though...

I had a stream pour down the folds of the paper and got a trail on my rotor. It squeeks every time it rotates. Will spray brake cleaner on it meņana.

I was wanting to do mine and leave them on. I was planning on putting plastic bags over the rotors. How do you do the lug holes? Does the plasti dip fill in the lugs/holes? I want the lugs to be black also.
