So what would be the best for removing the stuff that won't come off or is hard to get to? Would rubbing alcohol work? There is some spray got into the inside of my wheels and I need to figure out how to get it off without too much hassle. I tried just rubbing it off.

Everyone listen! NEVER use gasoline for anything but your fuel tank and making molotov cocktails (just kidding there). Splashing gasoline around in a pan and sploshing it on parts creates a lot of vapors. I am telling you right now...you will end up on Darwin Awards at some point. It will flash from the tiniest little spark...a dropped tool...static electricity...that cigarette in your mouth...etc.etc.etc.

Ask me how I know.....

I got all 5 Wheels done with 2 cans plus all the door locks...

All coated very well but iv been painting for a while. don't over coat it the first 2-3 coats. you should still see silver up until about coat 4 then you can start laying it on. should almost look like you not accomplishing much at first then it comes together in the end!

I used a full 3 cans to do 5 coats (thick as I think you would ever need) on all 5 wheels. I went to HomeDepot and bought a box of 6 cans at about 6 bucks a can and now have enough to do them all again as I assume it will only last about 2-3 months as I don't offroad yet etc.

I am far from an expert at painting anything, and this was relatively easy as I really highly suggest that you don't need to tape off the wheel etc. It literally just peels off any overspray areas of the wheel.
