Please Help
After installing a 2.5 in RK lift and new 35's I had some gear work done also sleeves and gussets. I aquired a clicking coming from the front DS area. The faster I go the louder it gets. Almost sounds like a baseball card in a bicycle spoke. It's def rotational. Going down hill with the motor killed I can still hear it. Also driving on the highway I get a vibration. Anyone know if this is a front Driveshaft going or a problem in the T case.
Did they forget to put gear oil back in the front diff? Did you have the ring and pinion replaced? Maybe they didn't get a good pattern and you are hearing your gears making noise. If it was a u-joint i would think you would hear it chirping. If it was a problem with the transfer case you'd hear it in the middle of the jeep not under the front.
Have a buddy walk beside your vehicle as you drive it to see if they can pinpoint where the sound is coming from. It might sound like its coming from a different location outside the vehicle.

Yeah it sounds like it could be coming from the T Case area.its def not the front dif. EVO did the gear work and I have to believe they didn't forget to put gear oil in it. Also I had the stealership take a look. Of course they say the noise is normal but also check the front and rear dif and said that looked great.
I wouldn't assume because a great shop did the work mistakes can't be made, even the most skill professional can have absent minded moments that's why we call it human error and not idiot error lol, but sounds like your tracking the noise away from the diff anyways

Ive had bad ujoints before (not on jeep) and it was clearly a clicking sound that was speed specific. Also it wud do so without power coasting down a hill. I wud check them cuz thats pbly a lot cheaper fix than something else in that area. Worth a look anyway.
