Well. If anyone cares. It works like a charm. I have no power locks and therefore no remote key. I bought the amazon one with the single button fob. Programmed it as per the instructions and video (search for user name warmmycar). The column was the biggest pain to take off!!!! Instead of pressing the lock button three times, you simply press the program button on the unit after removing your key. This apparently takes it out of program mode because all you are programming is the key. Hook up the antenna and off you go. I did not have to ground anything or splice anything. It works properly out of the box. I didn't hook the horn nor lights up. I might of I get bored, but I typically leave my parking lights on anyway when I get out. The jeep automagically turns the lights off for me. Therefore, when I hit the remote start, the parking lights turn on for me. It's like magic. My unit also came with a valet button (didn't care, just unplugged it) and also a inking red security light. I hadn't seen that mentioned here at all, so thought I'd mention it. It only seems to work when I start and turn off the jeep with the remote. Guess I'll play with it some more. Kinda neat though. Great little theft deterrent. Haven't checked the range yet, but all in all, I'm quite happy with the investment. I hope this helps the guys with the "not so fancy" remotes. See, us no bells and whistles guys get to have fun too....sometimes.

so just installed on my lunch break. jeep starts then shuts off right after start. figured it was due to having low fuel and my fuel light being on ( dodge ram I had wouldn't start when low fuel) so I got some gas and tried again in 4 low. does the same thing. Only thing I can think of id the guy I bought it from didn't program the module for factory alarm. so later i am going to try again and ground the wire in the process of programing after step 6 and before step 7.

Funny thing is I watched that damn video 20 times and read this whole thread 10 times and still missed the rounding step. but I figured the seller applied that for me, guess not.
