Finally got around to picking mine up! Hope to set it up this weekend, so exciting!

Still need to figure out a safety switch for the clutch and tranny though.

No luck on my install...

Follow the instructions, video, and thread. Spliced the yellows, grounded the purple/white. I press the lock at the end, honks once followed by aasecond honk for some reason.

I press the lock button 3 times, does not do anything. Blue light shows on theevo every time i lock. Any ideas?

Grounded purple for a second? Or perma grounded? Did you let the seller know year make and model? Might not be programmed for your jeep.

I grounded for 1 second, 5 seconds and then also skipped the step completely assuming the alarm would trigger, nothing in all cases.

It was a local shop that sold me the kit so he asked me if I wanted it flashed, I said yes. I saw him enter the model/year of the Jeep and it go through the flashing process. So it is flash, just not very sure as to what it is flashed with besides my Jeep year/make.

Mine worked like a charm for about a week then started to start the Jeep weird then completely stopped working.

I purchased this from the seller Car Alarm Depot. I was told on forums this was the seller to buy from because they come flashed for your model make and year. Well I contacted seller and got a quick response and ordered. A few days later the Fortin showed up and I installed. Due to my Jeep being an 08, plug and play wasn't an option and had to splice two of the yellow wires and solder together to make work. Well after a few days of using, the Jeep started to start really rough then a day or two later the keyless start stopped working all together. After completely pulling the Fortin, I contacted Car Alarm Depot a few times about the problem and finally got a response that THEY DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR PRODUCT ONCE INSTALLED OR ALTERED (you have to splice wires once again to make work... This isn't plug and play...so you have to alter) If you don't care about your Jeep and want to put faith in a $95 product that messes with your computer and wiring of Jeep have fun. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone and wouldn't recommend buying from Car Alarm Depot. Glad my only option is to contact Fortin and I'm out basically $100.

UPDATE: I spoke with a Fortin direct this morning, and this was the main part of email

"We do not replace any units unless bought directly from our web site and warranties are voided"

^Just one more reason not to waste your money^

Side note Amazon is trying to get my money back on an A-Z claim but we will see.

The remote's range seems to work much better from the sides or back of the JK. For some reason, the range from the front is very limted...perhaps the signal is sheilded from the dash. Hope this helps...

I installed the same product from directed but added the viper two way remotes with "up to a mile" range. Never had them work that far but easily from quite a good distance. Remote also tells you if your jeep is locked or unlocked and any alarms as long as it is in range. Not one single problem yet.
