Just thought of this, no matter what seller you buy from, if they are programming it for you, tell them if you have a factory alarm. You can avoid the issue those of us had initially with the alarm systems.

Installed mine last night, from the discontinued Ebay seller. Took about 10 minutes. Great find and thanks.

Fantastic! I just did it and all is GOOD! Thanks a bunch for all the help, folks!

Just a note, but in the manual, it makes no mention of grounding the purple/white wire, even though that's what I did as prescribed by Car Alarm Depot. Instead, the manual says while the blue light is flashing, press the UNLOCK button on your key (I guess while it's still in the ignition if you can get to it), then turn the key to the OFF position, then press the LOCK button on your key. I don't know if that works as well as the "purple/white wire touch to metal" technique.

I tried what the manual says about pressing the unlock button but that did not work.

My remote start should be here in the next day or so and I ordered it from the same place as everyone else. Knowing I have the factory alarm, I assume I will need to do this "fix". My question is, will this need to be done every time the battery is disconnected or is this a one time only deal?

Should just be a one time thing unless you go through all the steps again shown in the video

I received mine as well. Plug and play just as everyone else has said, no issues with the alarm system on my '08.

Who did you buy it from? Probably need to conenct the 2 yellow wires togther. One from the big 20 pin connector. The other is on a 2 pin connector that also has a purple wire.
