a bump stop like that won't work u will still get the dent as the bump stop isn't attached to anything substantial all the energry will still be passed along to the cowl cover...ergo still get a dent

If you take the doors on and off all the time, why don't u want to relocate the mirrors.

maybe not those bumpstops, but I really am thinking there has to be something to disperse the energy/force of the singing door so it wouldnt dent.

if you've already got the dent and are looking to get rid of it, i can recommend paintless dent repair as the way to go. my dealership caused my dent, and they had it fixed using a pdr guy, and he did a great job. before and after pics are in this thread...

Actually,, looking at the jeep,, if you put one of the hood rubbers on the lowest bolt hole in the windshield bracket(the one that you remove to drop the windshield) it might be out enough to keep this from happening? Just a thought,,

Paintless dent removal. Had my dent out in 15 minutes and you would never know it happened unless you looked very very closely (3 pencil tip sized bumps).

You need the Ding King by Billy Mayes
Did you by chance use the Ding King? I figure for $20 it's worth a shot. I got my dent yesterday, bing all careful, was putting the rear passenger door strap on and needed to move the front seat forward to get to the panel, so I opened the fron door (whose strap was not attached) and took both hands to move the seat up, and BLAM! Nice dent!

I have those hinge covers on my door hinges. Last weekend when taking the doors off I realized..... HEY LOOK! the door can't open all the way to the fender. Yup...misses by a good foot. The cover does prevent it from swinging all the way back. And yes I can remove the doors without taking the covers off. Down side....plan on repainting them. they rust easy.

The factory limiting straps do a great job, too.

Yea, mine was like the king of dents. So much so that when the pdr guy got the dent out the paint cracked. A trip to the body shop took care of that. Total cost, 0.00. Working at a dealership has its advantages. Thanks Auto Beauty Specialists.
