I get a lot of compliments and I haven't got water in the filter since I got it, and I go mudding quite a bit when I can

my only worry would be heavy snow fall since is doesn't run out the weeps like rain would. any have problems with snow??

im not one to drive past my doors in water, its more for protection and insurance. biggest reason was dusty forest roads in the summer. i cleaned my airaid twice this past summer. i won't be plugging the three bottom grommets at the bottom of the air box.

I went with the RR snorkel. Easy easy mod. I hate the look of the huge anaconda hood snorkel. Just my opinion. I wish i bought this 2 months ago. I hydro locked in about 2 ft of water. I hit it fast and i had a AFE cai. If u like water & mud, get a snorkel. Im sure they are all good but i really liked the look of the RR.

IF a snorkel noticeably decreases mpg (and snorkels are NOT 'born the same'), re-gearing may improve mpg, but it would not compensate for the snorkel.
Compare mpg with/without the snorkel after re-gearing, and the difference will be the same.

I've had no problems and I had the same concern

We had a lot of snow last year and had no issues at all with the snorkel. In one very bad storm I was the only car on the road (taking doctors to the hospital) and I was certain my intake was taking in snow because I was certain i could see it being sucked in.. However when I stopped for gas near the end of the night I checked and the filter box was dry..

---

Similar experience this summer on a very dusty backroad. We had to keep far distance between each other because the road was so dusty. One of the JKs had just replaced his air filter the night before and mine was about 2 months ago. We decided at the end of the day to compare filters to see which one was more dusty.

To our surprise mine was clean and when we tapped it there was no dusty. His gave a nice puff of dust smoke when we tapped his. Won me a beer that night!
