well, more power to you and i'm glad that you're no longer pulling your hair out of your head

EDIT: sorry, i see that you made a change to original post to now exclude the part about going with whatever everyone recommended

Don't feel Bad Rubican, I researched and questioned everyone on the forum and even called David about which lift I should get. I finally decided to save up for the OME 2" MD kit. Then this Christmas Rough Country had their 2" Spring and Shocks on sale for $240 and that won out over all the research I had done prior. I'm hoping I'll be happy with my decision. I see on this tread you have now decided to go with the Teraflex instead of BDS. It's like a tug of war going on in your head

Are you sure the instructions don't say no more than 4.5?

Backspacing is the distance from the mounting surface to the edge of the rim on the inside "facing the jeep" So, the less backspacing you have, the farther the tires will stick out.

My buddy sent me this which I think is a great PDF file on how to measure the Back space, offset, and lug pattern.

yeah the instructions say 4.5 so im guessing that means thats what it has to be. I dont want to run spacers on the 8179's trhe whole reason for me getting the wheels is to not use spacers. So 4.75 wont work at all can anyone else post on this? Ive seen so many pics of jeeps woth this rim I dont want to spend my money if the wheel wont do what i want it too.

I decided on BDs because ive driven and ridden in a few jk's in my 4wheel club with them and was impressed witht he experiance. And the front lowers will heklp me avoid those nasty cam bolts. Thanks again and ill be posting pics as soon as all the work is done. as well as a full report on the performance on road and off.

Me to I have a set of 8179's on order went with a 16" wheel and 4" backspacing.
I'm a little concerned about the backspacing everyone seems to be running 17" with 4.75" backspacing.
I hope I didn't mess up.
