Pulling the trigger
I have definitely read about people liking the KM2s but i have seen that they are average in the snow from a few websites. And from the little bit of research I have done on the Kuhmo mt kl71s they are better in the snow than the KM2s. The duratracs on the other hand seem to be a pretty damn good tire all around. Peoples only complaint seems to be the price. To be honest though I would rather pay more for a tire that I will love and won't have to compromise with.
Seems its down to either the Kuhmos or the Duratracs for me. I like the way the Kuhmos look a lot better but I don't want that to be the only deciding factor and end up getting the lesser of the tires just because they look cooler imo.
So im down to 2 tires and 2 lifts. Making Progress! Im still getting that paralysis of analysis though. How do you guys finally decide??
and tpm152 I'll be watchin for ya bud. I wave at every jeep I see haha.

my 2cents. any mud tire will perform in the snow. ICE is the problem that you will have. i run my M/Ts in the winter (canada) and i never have any problems. never stuck, occasional slip but in winter weather, just take extra care. know the dynamics / behaviour of your vehicle and you can get to where you're going to. take it slow and don't be ashamed to use 4wheelHI when you think you may need it.
of course any M/T is not an ideal tire for a daily driver. i am running toyo open country M/T's and they are amazing. i've had them on for almost 20,000km's and i can't even notice any wear on them. i think they're made of iron! kidding, but it is an awesome tire. but it's one of the heaviest and has a hefty price tag as well.

I looked into some of the tires you recommended phishjeep - seems they might be hard to get a hold of perhaps?
and revolucion as far as im concerned ice a problem with any tire - unlessed studded or chained or something like that. I'm just after a nice balance ya know?
tmp152 im considering either a teraflex 2.5" or a black diamond 3" lift. I've read that people love their black diamond lifts for DD. also, id trim fenders if need be.
Hey Echo I see you are from the PA Grand Canyon. I haven't been there since i was a kid! I will look into the Cooper STT's. One thing is for sure is that I am definitely in the range of tires I need to be.
I really appreciate all the feedback on this subject from everyone!

One thing to keep in mind is that Teraflex has a rep that is on this board. I have seen numerous times when there has been a small issue crop up and they -immediately- resolve the issue (usually by sending the new part). So if both lifts were equal in your mind, that might help push you off the fence.
