Default Purejeep Sliders

I felt I needed to post here about Pure Jeep rock sliders. I purchased a set based on the write up here on project-jk.com. The write up made it sound like a very straight forward install, using factory holes. I decided NOT to buy the LoD sliders, because I had heard the installation was pretty substantial, and likely beyond my ability.

When my sliders arrived, I found 15 pages of directions and instructions to drill multiple holes, multiple times all over my Jeep, install crush sleeve, special rivets with a special tool, plus remove the doors, the fender inner-liner and interior trim.

I quickly determined this was WAY above my skill level, so I called my friendly 4x4 shop, they did my lift and they do good work, reasonably priced. They said, "bring it in, we can do it for about $80". GREAT (I thought)

I brought it in today, they called me about 30 minutes after I left. The guy at the shop said this was a VERY complex installation and it would take them 5 hours to do the install. (He gave me a discount ($387))

I like the quality of the Pure Jeeps, but man does the installation suck compared to the write up. This is definitely a Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware).

Damn that sucks. Maybe it will make you feel better if you post pictures and we all admire the new sliders

from past threads I heard guys taking 11 hours to do one side then the other goes quickly. sounds like 380.00 was a good deal.

those things are bad ass. I wish they were in the budget. I read the write ups a while back so I know it isn't something I would want to tackle either.

first, the write up was the protype set, I'm not sure where your ordered from, but the pictures should have be obvious that they were not the same rockers.

second, $387 is a good price, about $35.00 hour, normal shop rate.

I'm not a mechanic and I installed them easily

Similar story here. Got them and took them to the shop to be installed, called several hours later to find that my Jeep was going to be there overnight! Apparently it was a pain to install, however they look great and are strong as hell!
