With all of that said, it is still a B*tch to install them and they still a very beefy.
Sorry, I wasn't being accusatory - just was the impression I got. But yes, they are insanely beefy. I've really tore mine up good and they have held up really well.

Jeeps are built not bought, the work is worth it. I know the installation is a little rough but the goal of the rocksliders is to add protection that will last. I have seen people become a little frustrated with the install but after it is done, the first time you find your jeep can really take a hit, you know all the work was worth it. PureJeep rocksliders are designed for function and looks. The install makes up for the weak points of our jeeps and leaves us with a much stronger much better looking jeep. Thanks for all the props to all of you who have PJ sliders and be sure to share the pics.

OK, I have the tools, I have the mechanical know how and think I could manage this install without issue. That said, I don't want to spend a full day getting it done.

That said, I think I'll roll with the LODs.

I have heard the LoD's are a pain too, but I like the PJ's and frankly I got them on Monday and needed them installed by Thursday. I am sure I *could* have done it myself, but it would have taken 4-6 hours I did not have. (prolly more, 'cause i not really handy with anything but a computer and a hockey stick.)

4-5 hours is about my attention span for installing a non-rotational or moving part.

4-5 hours is how long I can last having fun with something that only provides utilitarian purposes before becoming impaired by fluid intake.

If this were engine, suspension or braking related I could cut loose a whole day for it, but I'm just not all that enthralled by cutting out a full day for the installation of sliders/rails.

I guess I need to do some further research on this and find the proper solution.

If the LoD sliders are going to be a full day then I am really stuck and anyone with 2 door installation experience knowing how long it takes I'd like to hear it as I'm unsure if I've just underestimated the complexity of this project.

Mine arrived last week while I was away. Ive looked at the instructions a few times, unwrapped the sliders and looked at them as well. call me crazy but I dont think it will be that hard. hold em in place, measure 3 times, drill once. maybe Im missing something.

UPDATE>>>>
I got the drivers side on. Went pretty smoothly. I cant do the passenger side because they shipped two drivers side rails. ARGHHHHH. so the wait begins.....
Total time of install on drivers side.... 3 hours. 1 of which was spent looking for a long enough 1/4" drill bit. also spent a bit of time trial fitting it to make sure it lined up correctly.

The Damage inflected (Stock Rubi Rails) before I got PureJeep Sliders:

The Damage repaired by me which saved over 800 dollars at the bodyshop:

The best damn sliders period (Are they a pain in the ass to install yes but well worth it):

All in all it did take a long time mostly to line everything up before I put a single hole in my baby but after it was all said and done I would not do it any other way. The install is not for the faint of heart it was a difficult install so if you take your Jeep in the dealer for oil changes because you don’t know how to do it don’t even try or find a shop to do the install. Otherwise I recommend them to anyone who wants the best sliders

Note: I have since beat the crap out of them will no ill-affects other than paint missing but at this time do not have pictures. Have they saved my butt yes many times plus they just look good.
