Question about cutting pinch seam and rubi rails
This might be a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. Do you have to remove the rock rails to cut them and the seam? I'm going to be putting on 35's. I already have ace rock sliders installed and I had a hard time putting them on. Dont really want to take them off. I will if I have to but wanted to see if anybody trimmed with everything still on jeep. Thanks for any input.

The pinch seam.. yeah I've noticed allot more doing this.. yet the newer jeeps already have this cut back.. I'm even considering this myself.. sort of unsightly sticking out in the rear wheel well. I'm sure the rails would have to come off to properly cut the pinch points.. Thou I've yet to see how or what tools are needed to do this.. Prob a grinder.. just clean up the cut point and paint it up good thereafter.

There's plenty of write ups on doing it. You can use a sawzall, or die grinder. Hell, even a dremel would work. Just gotta make sure it's a clean cut straight through. Once you're done, pack it with some jb weld and pinch it together with a pair of vice grips till it dries. Sand and paint. As for the rails, yes you'll need to remove them prior to start.
