So I have the tera flex leveling kit, the kit thats just pucks... Heres my question

Can 35x12.5.x17 fit on my jiu now without any rubbing???? (I have rims with 10 offset and 4.89 BS, and a aftermarket front bumper). I have the brand new tires just sitting in my garage but was going to wait to buy the lift in summer time but i would like to mount the tires now. The jeep is going to be a pavement princess until i put the lift on in the summer so I am not worried about flexing. Just want to know if ill be good without rubbing and all that nonsense

 

4.89 inches of back spacing is not quite enough...typically you want 4.5 inches or less for 35x12.5's but each tire is different. I have goodyear duratracs on stock rims (6.5ish inches of BS) and 1.25 inch wheel spacers and have minor rubbing on the sway bar at full lock and full flex. I have no lift and flat fenders.

 

I ran 315/70r17 (metric equivalent to 35) on AEV wheels, which we're about 5.2 BS. Also ran 37s on those wheels. I had some rubbing on the control arms. I just added some washers to the steering stops. Didn't completely solve the issue, but after the washers I only got rubbing on one side at full lock (axle probably want perfectly centered).

The general consensus is that you want 4.5" BS for those tires, but i think you'd be fine with the wheels you have. Lots of folks running AEV wheels and 35s.

Yeah, this is talked about quite often, but the sites search feature isn't that great.

There are lots of variables, so 4.5" backspace for 35x12.50's is the general recommendation - not rule. A lot of people run 35's with 5" or a bit higher BS without issue. Others will have a little rubbing. It just depends on the specific build and how/where you drive.
(with 4.5" backspace, 4" of actual lift height, and 35's that measured 33.5", the front tires would still stuff up and rub every time I turned through two certain intersections in town.)

 

I ran the Rubicon trail, the Dusy ershim and most all trails in Moab with 35x12.5-17 Toyos on AEV rims with 5.2 bs and never had an issue.

Im asking if i would rub with 35sx12.5x17 with the 1.5" tera flex lift?

All the people i speak with say i will just rub on my fenders if i hit a bump or so. Im thinking I might add the moore 1" BL just to avoid the troubles

 

yes without flat fenders you will need at least a 2.5 coil lift with 35's. I was running a rk 3.5
