jdcjeep - Do you have any pic's with your leveling kit and duratrac 285/70/17's. That is exactly what I plan on doing with 17" pintlers. I would like to see how much that set up fills the wheel well. Thanks

You have already made it very clear that you think the Teraflex leveling kit is a pretty stupid idea by many previous posts in this thread. So you are saying that you see NO benefit to those who only want to run 33's or 34's by having some extra room for flex by spending $119.00 for the kit?

BTW, I wheel my unlimited with NO LIFT right now and stock rubi 32's and have done things that would make some folks with 35's and 4" lifts shit their pants. But keep on judging what people do with their jeeps as you have said that those who are REALLY going to wheel their unlimiteds do so with more than a leveling kit...

offers the least amount of lift that lets you run 33's
seems to me, he thinks he has to put a leveling kit on to run 33's. Not true

Maybe to run 33's or 34's with room for flex or a heavier than stock front bumper. If I could figure out how to add your statement about those who are REALLY wheeling a 4 door lift it and not with a leveling kit , I would.

Just found all your posts in this thread pretty close minded and elitest BUT you are correct no where did you say it was stupid.... just seriously implied.

My Jk is my daily driver and for $119 dollars (thanks Dave at northridge) and the lack of other mods needed to install it correctly and for me to run 33's or 34's it makes a TON of sense for me and many others.

sorry to hurt your feelings, Just my opinion. Kinda like people not like the rake of a stock jeep... since this is what the thread was about anyhow.

Thank you all for your comments. Not sure I got my curiosity cured though. I myself like a little rake in ALL my rides. I don't like the level look at all. Especially knowing how handling and looks (saggy behind) are affected with a load on. Which I do all the time. Put a full load of stuff in a 4dr, seats down or with people in the seats and the rake nearly goes away. Hook up a trailer and walla, level! Maybe that and aerodynamics is what Jeep had in mind.

HAPPY TRAILS to all of you and happy holidays

With the JK I believe it is an aerodynamics thing. But I know this, if it's been "leveled", then you load it up with stuff, now it looks saggy in the back. And that to me looks stupid.

I kinda like the stock rake personally because of the same reasons you posted. If it is removed, when it is under power or loaded down it sits nose high and i dont like that look at all. JMO but i wound up putting spacers in the back and gaining some rake back and I was glad because it helped cut down on the wind noise at the header for me.

We kill this every few months. A rake is what you get on the front end of a motorcycle. On a vehicle you simply have to more or less degree a "sag" or in the case of most JK's - the hood slopes and that's how it's designed. They look great that way. However there are a lot of things people spend money on that they'll never get value out of. So if someone dislikes his/her hood slope and they want to spend time and money on - why not?

I for one like the stock rake. I just didn't like how low the vehicle sat in general, so I added 1" Teraflex spacers all the way around. As an added benfit, my breakover angle improved.

For those arguing about lift, clearance, articulation etc... with a leveling kit you are just trading down travel for up travel. The length of the shock and position of the bump stop determines suspension travel. Of course, if you add enough spacers (pre-load) your jeep may not be heavy enough to get onto the bump stops anyway.

My 2 cents.
