Rake haters
Rake and lift go hand in hand. If you lift the front you reduce rake. Quite simple actually.
Something to think about. How many prerunners and desert racers run with a rake like the JK has? Um, none. Why? Reduces wheel travel. Some of us want that travel so we have reduced the rake by lifting.

Put me down as one of those who just dislike the look of the JK's rake. Mine particularly was really bad. It took 1.5" just to get it level....and yes I have a stock bumper. Funny thing happened though as a result. Last summer when I attended the 2nd annual Canadian JK Fest (plug!), I didn't smack the underside of my Jeep nearly as much as the stock guys did. Go figure eh!
I installed a leveling kit on my 2010 sport with 33's 2" in front 1" in the rear. I love the look and did lose some mpg. but this is a weekend car and not a daily driver.
I thought about a 2.5 TF lift but I also wanted to make sure it fits in the garage.
I'm cool with a flat no rake jeep. each his own.

Long Arms are pricey, they just are. They ride the best on-road, flex best off-road, they are well worth the money. If I had it to do over again< I would have gone long arm, as it is my short arm is good for now. In the (far) future, I plan to get the EVO long arm upgrade...if I can be patient to wait that long.
...Not to mention that the Full Traction Ultimate Long Arm includes absolutely everything you would need (except driveshafts, but even they may not be necessary right away) and its bolt on. It actually seems like kind of a deal to me
Your right if your just thinking about axel clearance.
But it does increases your wheel travel 2" up front and 1" in the rear and increases your front and rear approach angles. So in theory you have more ground clearance before your bumpers hit.
That could be what he meant.

One reason to get the TF levelling kit is it offers the least amount of lift that lets you run 33's and comes from a good company like teraflex. That's why I got the levelling kit. It also makes my jeep look cool, but I got it to run duratrac 285/70/R17's.
