i ordered the rugged ridge modular bumper winch mount stubby with a hoop and d-rings for not a whole lot more. if you are going to put a winch on i just think it looks cleaner to have it sit in a well in the bumper
ya totaly agree with above it does look way cleaner with the wich mounted in or half way in oposed to on top the bumper prob better for keeping the jeep running cool to be mounted lower.
but no offense imo honestly think a winch is hard to make look good unless you buy a expensive ass one with sinthetic rope and and a nice bumper to match it. if i ever run a winch my plan was to have it on a plate with a 2" reciever so i could have it slide in the rear reciver and set it up so it could slide in a reciever up front that way only used when needed and not taking with me when im not on the trail but thats a ways down the road bottom of the list of what i want and need done

I say go for it. For the price it is not a bad looking bumper. Rancho quality is decent as well. I have the rear tire carrier and admittedly had alot of issues with it, but Rancho made it right. Once I got all the right/updated peices it turned out to be a pretty good looking and functional tire carrier!
